The Litter Letters made last year by Pigeon Forge High School students and Keep Sevier Beautiful have moved to their new location. The 6ft tall WHY letters are on display now at Ripleys Aquarium of the Smokies in Gatlinburg and will stay there through Earth Day.
I initially created the Litter Letter Project in 2012 for my MFA thesis at Vermont College of Fine Arts with my main focus and research centered around using graphic design as a tool for behavioral change. It began as a local collaboration with a small group of people that developed into reality thanks to the funding and support from Keep Louisiana Beautiful. This website serves to document the project moving forward and its growth as it develops into other areas. It has been a wonderful journey so far working with so many great people in many communities as they create their own versions of this idea to address the issue.
