#TrashfreeDC Litter Letters created in our nations capital!
Anacostia Riverkeeper works to protect and restore the Anacostia River for all who live, work, and play in the watershed. They rely on law and advocacy to improve water policy and deploy green infrastructure to improve water quality. They create meaningful encounters with the river for all citizens in order to open opportunities for enjoyment of the Anacostia River.
The organization was awarded a grant in Fall 2018 from the District Department of Energy and Environment’s Community Storm water Solutions from the Anacostia River Clean Up and Restoration Fund to create this project. These #TrashFreeDC Litter Letters, welded by SEW Academy, on display in front of the education building in Anacostia Park, Washington DC will be there for the 'year of the Anacostia'. The litter letters were filled with litter collected by volunteers at clean up events in and along the shores of the Anacostia River. The 40ft #TrashfreeDC letters were moved temporarily to be on display in front of the World Bank in Washington DC for Earth Day. For more information: www.anacostiariverkeeper.org |
