 On display at Bristol Harbor Festival, July 2017  Many thanks to Johnny Stevens, Bill Rowan and the Spring Hill College team for outstanding video production.  Welded by Karl Broussard and Stephen Laurendine. Students of IDS394 wrapped the piece with chicken wire and filled with recyclables. For the next 3 weeks faculty, staff and students are invited to fill with plastic and aluminum cans. This traveling installation is part of the “Northside Keeps it Clean” campaign to fight litter and increase recycling in Pittsburgh’s Northside neighborhoods through awareness, education and action.  Litter Letters created in Chadron, Nebraska making this the 6th state to adopt the project!7/16/2016
These WHY letters were made by Pine Ridge Job Corps in partnership with Keep Chadron Beautiful. Featured at their Earth Day Festival and Great American Clean Up these letters will move around for different events in Chadron.  |
AuthorI initially created the Litter Letter Project for my MFA thesis at Vermont College of Fine Arts as my main focus and research centered around using graphic design as a tool for behavioral change. What began as a local collaboration with a small group of people developed into reality thanks to the funding and support from Keep Louisiana Beautiful. This website serves to document the project and its growth as it developed across multiple states in the USA and now all over the world. It has been a wonderful journey so far working with many great people as they create their own versions of this idea to address the issue in their communities. Archives
